i would take it to the nearest auction house. they can usualy appraise the value.
You can get a free antique appraisal here:http://www.mythings.com/valuations.aspx?gclid=CL6uyvTKlZICFRUOIgodwwSq6AGood luck!!
The value of the book that you have is the price of knowledge.Try reading it, learning from it, and investigating more into your newly obtained artifact. You may stumble upon more pieces of history that are waiting to be discovered (or rediscovered).
Biberon translates as “feeding cup” or “infant bottle” and de mon bebe translates literally as “of my baby” so syntactically what you have is my baby’s bottle.I have no idea what the G.C. might stand for, nor do I know what this item would be worth. I would guess not very much, simply because of its deteriorated state, though the box would offset some of that diminishment in value. Still, it is a piece for which there would be a limited market even if it were in mint condition so I would not expect to get much of a price for it. If you like it I suggest you simply keep it as a curiousity.
This is something that you really need to take and get appraised. You are not going to be able to find an exact correct price online without submitting photos and a lot more information on the books. I rare book store can help you out on this. If you call up a rare bookstore close to where you live and ask them if they appraise books or where you can take your books to get appraised. One thing to always remember about getting a book or anything else appraised is to get it appraised by at least two different appraisers(two different places). The reason for that is to make sure you the appraiser is not trying to tell you that it is worth a lot less then what it really is and you end up sell him the item. Go to yellowpages.com or do a google search for book appraisers in your area. Then to sell it if you want to after it has been appraised you can ask the different appraiser that if you decided to sell if where would be a good place. You can also do a search for rare book stores in your area to sell the books to after you get them appraised. Good luck.
This is true..I happened upon a really cute guy. We were in college and only went out once. It was his aunts ‘everything must go’ moving sell. He and I learned we attended the same university at that time!I didn’t buy anything. I was only there because my crazy roommate collected these odd plates and she always would stop at those things! What up girl!
If the story was verified, yes I would. Otherwise, they are just wooden boxes to me and I already have a couple of wooden boxes. LOL
